Moving your website to another website hosting server is very common and this is what you often do. The only thing that you worried about is that you have many folders and files, maybe thousands of them. Too much time needs to set it up.

Usually what you do is going to the file manager of the hosting server and first create the folders and then open the folder created and upload files into that folder. For a small website, it won't be a problem, but for a big website with many folders and files, it will be a big problem. You will spend lots of time doing the tedious job, createing folders and uploading files.

You will then use ftp to upload the files and it really saves you lots of time. Usually you will still create folders first, which is really boring and then upload files. Many people do this all the times because they think that this is only one-time job.

If you find a better website hosting company, you would, of course, like to try it. But thinking of too much work that you need to do, you may give up the idea to try it.

If you find a good free website hosting server for your backup site and you spend lots of time set it up, all of a sudden, you find that your site is canncelled because of 30 days inactivitiy. Then this will be the nightmare for you because you have to do everything again!

The solution for the above problem is very simple. You don't need to create folders and go to the related folders to do uploading. The following is what you need to do:

1. Open your ftp program.

2. Connect to your hosting server.

3. Go to the root directory or the folder you want the folder copied to.

4. Open windows explorer and find the folder with all the sub-folders and files in it.

5. Drag the folder from windows explorer and drop it to the place you have just been to in your ftp program.

6. The whole folder will then be automatically copied to your website server.

Note:

Your ftp program should have the drag and drop feature. Most of the ftp software have this feature.
